Alaska is the 49th state gained statehood on Jan. 3rd 1959 that is called “the
last frontier in the US”. Alaska has bigger size than quadruple Japan does, but
has only 600,000 population living in that vast space.
If you fly straight from Tokyo to Anchorage, the distance is ONLY 5,241 km. Alaska is actually the next door neighbor of Japan.
