| - Alaska, the kingdom of wild salmon |

Clean, Cold and pure ocean and rivers in Alaska are the best place for Alaska wild salmon to live. Alaska has the biggest stock of 5 species of salmon (King, Sockeye, Coho, Pink, and Chum). In Alaska, fish farming is strictly prohibited by State Law in order to protect abundant seafood resource and beautiful natural environment.
95% of total wild salmon landing in the US comes from Alaska only.
The eggs which salmon spawn usually incubate in winter and hatch through spring. Since they cannot live in high water temperature they descend into the sea and start circuiting in Gulf of Alaska, Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands and Kamchatka. After spending 2 to 4 years at sea, they come back to spawn. They go up rapids and dangerous falls to return the same spot where their lives began.
There is no accepted theory how salmon navigates so unerringly.
Alaska's 5 species of salmon have succulent and firm texture as they are naturally fed eating abundant marine resources like prawn and squid. |
