For 4th consecutive year ASMI sponsored the Dancyu magazine Annual Recipe Contest.
This time ASMI’s theme was ‘Delicious, Healthy and Natural’ Alaska seafood recipes using sockeye salmon, ikura, pacific cod and black cod.
About 230 applications were received from Japanese consumers all over the nation last (2003) fall, and two finalists were selected to compete in the grand prize contest.
Two other Japanese food makers, Yazuya and FANCL, also sponsored this event.
On January 18th 2004 five contestants gathered at Dancyu for the final recipe contest.
Doctor Hattori, a main judge of the popular TV program ‘Iron Chef’, led the honorable judges; finalists prepared two different recipes within a three hour period.
